Whilst there has been some relaxation of governance requirements in order to ensure focus on direct care, there is still a need to manage information incidents.

Serious incidents can result in harm to patients or other individuals and so there remains an obligation to prevent incidents and respond to them properly when they occur.

As your DPO, we are still required to be notified of all incidents that occur. Please be assured that, for low level incidents, we will simply log these as opposed to carrying out the usual root-cause analysis that would consume valuable time and resources during this crisis. We can then return to them at a later date to explore trends and lessons learned.

For the investigation, resolution of moderate / serious incidents, we will work to minimise the impact that the process has on your team and bring the matter to a swift resolution.
